A new International Intelligent Logistics Park in Dongguan, in the Guangdong Province of China has been formally opened by Cainiao and 4PX.

The new logistics park is designed to be a nationwide hub for Alibaba’s Aliexpress and the Taobao / Tmail international businesses. The hub is designed to handle an annual throughput of some 100,000 tonnes of parcels. The 4PX / Cainiao logistics hub will support more than 500 billion RMB in cross-border sales annually with all the benefits that has to everyone in the supply chain. For 4PX and Cainiao it will be an integral part to optimise the supply chain and increase global fulfilment capability.

4PX released a statement that said that while formally opened last week, it was fully operational in time for the surge in volumes around this year’s 11.11 Single’s Day shopping festival.

4PX added: “The Cainiao and 4PX International Intelligent Logistics Park covers an area of 21,000 square meters, and is currently the largest and most intelligent cross-border e-commerce package processing center in China .

“Built by Cainiao and 4PX, it includes automatic weighing and sorting lines, telescopic conveyors lines, and consolidation lines, among other equipment. The core systems of the intelligent logistics facility were developed in-house by 4PX’s team of 300 IT, based on years of independent research and logistics development experience, not only providing efficient and stable operation of the entire park, but also enhancing delivery times and consumer experience.”
