Frank founded Apex Insight in 2012. He has worked across many sectors but has particular experience in transport and logistics. He has advised a range of leading organisations including the Royal Mail, FedEx and UPS, the BBC, Endemol, MITIE, Dixons Carphone and the FCA. He has also led buy- and sell-side commercial due diligence assignments for private equity firms including Sovereign Capital, Livingbridge, NVM, GMT, Root Capital, 3i and LDC.
Frank started his career in strategy consulting, working with two firms, Bridgewater and Burlington, which were originally founded by ex-Bain teams. Subsequently, he was a senior member of the Transaction Support team at EY, advising private equity firms and corporate acquirers on commercial due diligence and other acquisition-related issues. He has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University. Outside work he is a keen long-distance and adventure cyclist.
Paul has worked with Apex Insight since 2014 and now leads our research business. He has extensive experience in business information and market intelligence. While he has worked across many sectors, he has particular experience in transport and logistics, both as an analyst involved in researching and writing many reports and studies on the industry – at Datamonitor and Analytiqa – and in a marketing role with Christian Salvesen.
Paul’s experience also includes responsibility for business information in professional services firms: Mazars and Catalyst Corporate Finance. He has a BA in modern languages and business studies from Swansea University.
Juan, who is Senior Partner of 722 Consulting which advises clients in the logistics and BPO sectors worldwide, is Apex Insight’s partner for operational due diligence. In this capacity, he has been part of our team on a series of transactions (including Dalepak and Carousel Logistics).
Juan spent 20 years at UPS, carrying out senior roles including European Director of Engineering, and was heavily involved in the strategy and execution of the worldwide expansion of UPS in both Latin America and Europe. His experience also includes Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), having been a member of a team which secured private equity backing to carry out an MBI. Juan has bachelors and masters degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami.
Julian is a specialist in the regulation of asset finance markets including business leasing and consumer credit. He is the founding director of Asset Finance Policy.
From 2008 to 2014 Julian was Head of Asset Finance at the Finance & Leasing Association. His previous experience spans regulation with the Financial Reporting Council and Competition Commission (now the Competition and Markets Authority), management consulting with PwC and KPMG, and industry with NCR and UPS.
He is a Chartered Management Accountant and has Masters Degrees in Management from Boston University and Competition and Regulation from the University of East Anglia.
