London’s largest B2B same-day delivery couriers Addison Lee have announced the acquisition of ComCab (Computer Cab plc), the largest black cab taxi company in the capital. This will make Addison Lee both the biggest player in same-day delivery but the biggest taxi company in London, with more than 2,500 black cab taxis running across the capital.

“I am sure there will be a few raised eyebrows at this deal given that Addison Lee and black taxis were once seen as competitors. However, the industry we operate in has changed and this alliance combines the two most professional companies in our sectors who share the same focus on quality of service, the customers we serve and the importance of the drivers. We have always held the black taxi as our benchmark, and it’s now a privilege to be able to work with them,” said Liam Griffin, CEO, Addison Lee

The deal was originally announced in June but has now been completed. Customers will now be able to book car, courier and taxi services from one seamless mobility platform.

“With restrictions in the capital set to lift shortly, business and passenger travel will increase. By uniting Addison Lee and ComCab under one roof, we become the market leader in offering Londoners safety, premium quality, and professional service at scale in the capital,” Griffin continued.
