Air Canada extends Heathrow air cargo relationship

Air Canada has extended its 40 year running relationship with Heathrow Cargo Centre as it renewed a contract for a 10 year lease for 87,400 square feet of space at the SEGRO Cargo Centre.

Mark Olney, General Manager, Air Canada Cargo – Europe, ME & India, commented: “This location has been integral to our UK operations for 40 years, and therefore we are delighted to work with SEGRO to extend our stay for another decade. We have seen an increase in the amount of cargo coming in through the airport, so having a facility like this one is paramount.”

More than half of the UK’s air cargo goes through Heathrow and there is competition for access to the SEGRO centre that also has direct airside access. Air cargo volumes are forecast to increase for years to come as e-commerce plays a factor in changing world trade.
