ArrowXL and Aldi have agreed a three year contract for ArrowXL to undertake two-man delivery of oversized items for the cut price retailer.
At the same time AO has signed a deal with Aldi to deliver its Specialbuys range over three years.
According to ArrowXL it expects to handle more than 10,000 deliveries for the supermarket chain every year. It will collect the goods direct from Aldi’s fulfilment centre in Northamptonshire and then organise the deliveries to the customers’ homes.
ArrowXL was awarded the contract following a competitive tender. Chief executive Charlie Shiels said: “Aldi continues to go from strength to strength and this important contract will allow us to play a key role in supporting the retailer’s future growth. Our specialist delivery heroes are specifically trained to ensure they provide the very best customer experience possible for this high profile and well-loved brand.”
David Barter, MD of national IT at Aldi, said: “Whilst we continue to enjoy huge success across our network of stores, we are also experiencing rapid growth online. We required the support of a home delivery partner to enable more customers to shop with us, as we focus on continuing to improve our shopping experience.
“ArrowXL has a fantastic track record and can quickly scale up and down operations to fit our needs, which is ideal for us as we continue to introduce new and exciting products at different times of the year,” he added.
