As the peak season gets underway, Amazon has extended its free delivery options in the US. There are now more than 10 million SKUs available for next day free delivery for Prime members.
Recently Apex Insight reported how Amazon’s profits have fallen due to its investment in free delivery. Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO, commented on the subject last month: “It’s a big investment, and it’s the right long-term decision for customers.”
The online giant has extended its Prime Free Same-Day Delivery option that brings the convenience of same-day delivery to millions more members in the last year. This applies to groceries from AmazonFresh and Whole Foods Market as well as household essentials – all of which include one- and two-hour delivery windows.
This is in addition to free shipping on millions of items that all customers can enjoy year-round on orders over $25.
Maria Renz, Vice President, Global Delivery Experience, Amazon said: “We know the holidays can be a busy time, especially with 2019 being one of the shortest shopping seasons. Our goal is to make the season as easy as possible for customers and deliver smiles at every turn, whether it’s shopping the largest selection available for free shipping, or getting holiday essentials delivered the very same day, and more.”
