Amazon India expands Flex delivery programme

Amazon India has said that it has expanded its Flex delivery programme into 35 cities across the country. This should help the online giant continue to grow its delivery network across the subcontinent.

Amazon Flex is a programme where Amazon contracts independent couriers to deliver its orders to customers. The delivery partners use their own vehicles. It has created several thousand flexible, part time jobs in India that can earn them between 120 and 140 Rupees per hour (£1.27- £1.48).

“Over the last one year we have received an overwhelming response for the Amazon Flex programme from thousands of individuals who have benefited by delivering to Amazon customers. Amazon Flex partners enjoy the part-time opportunity to earn more, especially at this time when the country is economically recovering from the impact of the nationwide lockdown. Their safety remains our top priority, and we are taking the right precautions, and have implemented a series of preventative health measures,” said Prakash Rochlani, Director of Last Mile Transportation, Amazon India
