Amazon retail and delivery figures for 2019

Amazon’s last-mile delivery network delivered more than 3.5 million parcels globally in 2019. This and other figures have emerged of the online retail giant’s success over the year.

Prime had 5 million trial and new fully-signed-up customers during the peak season, and this in part allowed the Prime Free One-day and Prime Free Same-Day services to quadruple in deliveries by comparison to 2018 globally.

The online giant’s marketplace enabled some 100 million parcels from third-party sellers to be delivered through the Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) delivery and warehousing programme.

The pickup/drop-off network run by Amazon saw strong growth too, with a 60% growth in uptake globally.

“This holiday season has been better than ever thanks to our customers and employees all around the world,” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO.
