Amazon is reported to be setting up two new distribution centres near Munich and is set to expand operations in the city.

A report by the local newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung suggested that the two sites are under construction near the city. Amazon would not comment on the reports.

The newspaper also reported that this new investment is to further extend the company’s Prime same day delivery operations around the city.

Germany is the largest economy in the EU and such investments alongside new operations in neighbouring Poland and the Czech Republic suggest that the company is taking advantage of the healthy regional economy.
