Amazon to build new logistics centre in Germany

A new logistics centre is to be built by Amazon Germany in Werne, in 2016.

The online giant already has a logistics centre in the city but the site and buildings are rented. Amazon will own the new distribution centre, thereby reducing costs.

Amazon has 29 logistics centres across Europe in seven countries that permanently employ 24,500 staff.

The company has recently announced new network of distribution centres in several countries among the newer members of the European Union including the Czech Republic and Poland as the business expands its reach across the EU, targeting emerging markets for its business.
