An Post launches Address Point for homeless

An Post is to offer a mailing solution to homeless people called Address Post that gives them a fixed postal address so they can access essential services.

This can mean that homeless people can set up bank accounts, receive government services, apply for work and receive school correspondence – an essential leg up for those who have fallen through the net.

An Post is working on the project with a number of homelessness charities across Ireland and will roll out the service in early April.

Homelessness is a growing problem in Ireland, with 234 extra people being listed as homeless and living in temporary accommodation since December 2018.
