UK high street giant Argos and online marketplace eBay have agreed a deal whereby consumer sellers can send their goods to buyers by dropping them off at a local Argos store.
The new service, which will begin with 150 of Argos 800 stores before the end of the year, will enable eBay sellers to have their goods delivered to an eBay buyer within 48 hours. This was piloted among 10 Argos shops in 4 towns across the UK.
The eBay / Argos Click and Collect programme is to be extended too, allowing buyers more convenience when they shop with eBay. Argos own Click and Collect service was the first such service in the UK and is well developed.
Earlier this week, Apex Insight reported that Argos has announced a same day delivery service, as the company deepens its interest in e-commerce in the UK. The partnership with eBay should significantly improve its market reach in the e-commerce market.
