Asendia has bought out the US based worldwide e-commerce and mail company Globegistics.
Asendia is an international logistics group jointly founded by La Poste and Swiss Post. It has 15 subsidiaries across Europe, Asia and North America. Meanwhile Globegistics has five sites in LA, New York, Chicago and Miami. This will build Asendia’s presence in the Americas.
After the acquisition, Asendia and Globegistics will operate as separate entities under the same leadership. They will explore opportunities that may be beneficial to them both.
Marc Pontet, Chief Executive Officer of Asendia, commented: “We are delighted that Globegistics is joining the Asendia Group. Globegistics is a fast growing and very dynamic company that we believe is a perfect complement to our existing business in North America, Asendia USA. Most importantly, Globegistics shares Asendia’s core values of trust, respect, reliability, which are the best pillars with which to build great successes. On behalf of all of Asendia’s 1,000 staff around the world, as well as our shareholders Swiss Post and La Poste, I enthusiastically welcome the entire Globegistics team to Asendia.”
Jack Meehan, Chairman and founder of Globegistics, added: “I am thrilled that Globegistics is joining such a prestigious group as Asendia. When we founded Globegistics in 2011, our mission was to give our customers the best service possible in order to build the fastest growing company in the industry. It is particularly satisfying for me that my partners Rob DiVincenzo and Doug Longobardi will continue the Globegistics adventure with the support of such a fine company as Asendia.”
