Austrian Post Q1 – revenue and profits fall

Operating profits at Austrian Post fell by 17.9% in the first quarter of the financial year to €81.2 million compared to the same period in 2021. The profit drop was on the pack of revenues falling by 7.1% to €601.4 million.

Mail saw a revenue drop of 3.9%, while Parcel & Logistics saw a drop of 12.5%. Parcel Turkey was a significant factor in this drop, with a revenue drop adjusted to exclude Turkey’s poor performance that would only have been a drop of 3.4%.

“Austrian Post is striving to making letter mail and parcel delivery services as cost-efficient as possible by implementing extensive countermeasures. Inflation adjustments will be made on the revenue side,” comments Austrian Post CEO Georg Pölzl.
