Autonomous delivery vehicles are to be tested by Australia Post in Brisbane next month.
Australia Post are to trial the machines in a four week trial commencing on the 13th November.
While the autonomous delivery vehicle is to navigate its own way along the pavements of the New Far district of the city, it will be accompanies by an Australia Post employee.
The pilot scheme only allows the parcel robot to carry one parcel at a time, and this will be delivered between 1800 to midnight.
“The small scale trial will explore if there is customer demand to receive after hours deliveries via a mobile parcel locker,” an Australia Post spokesperson was quoted as saying.
