Bonuses for staff as Deutsche Post DHL profits double

Thanks to operating profit more than doubling in the second financial quarter compared to 2020, Deutsche Post DHL Group is awarding a bonus of €300 to its 550,000 non-executive staff.

Preliminary operating profit in Q2 grew to €2.075 billion compared to Q2, 2020’s €912 million.

“The second quarter proved once again that global trade volume continues to recover and the e-commerce boom is sustainable – and we benefit strongly from both. All divisions continue to operate at full speed worldwide and achieve double-digit EBIT growth rates. We want to thank our employees who do fantastic work around the world and deserve another corona bonus”, said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

All divisions of the logistics giant saw strong growth. Amongst the highlights, DHL Express had operating profit reach €1,170 million in Q2 2021, more than double its €565 million profit in the same period 2020. Post & Parcel Germany was €315 million as against €196 million in 2020.
