Logistics company WH Bowker is to purchase the warehousing and transport operations at five sites that belong to Potter Logistics for an undisclosed sum. The sites are located in Knowsley, Droitwich, Selby, Ripon and York.
Currently WH Bowker has logistics sites in Hull and Preston. As of 2015 the group had a turnover of £181.8 million. The acquisition is set to expand the company’s operations in specialist chemicals logistics, healthcare and food warehousing and distribution.
Now WH Bowker has made the acquisition it will run a road transport fleet of more than 200 trucks, 450 trailers and over a million square feet of warehousing. It will also emloy more than 750 people.
Meanwhile Potter Group (Holdings) plc will become a property investment company that focuses on the development of its extensive land assets. It was founded in 1965 as Topcliffe Transport.
