Head of bpost Group’s Parcels & Logistics, North America, Henri Romree is to leave his post at the end of the year. At the same time, bpost has announced it is to use Double Deck HGV trailers (DDTs) for its middle mile parcel operations.
Between 2019 and 2020 Romree was CFO of bpost Group and headed the Mail and Retail business until he was posted to North America at the beginning of the year. In addition he was member of the bpost Executive Committee and CEO of subsidiary North America based Radial. He has left his job for family reasons.
Henri de Romree said, “It has been my honour to lead bpost group’s activities in North America for the last year. In that time, Radial has shown the first profitable growth since its acquisition by bpost group and the teams realised this milestone in challenging COVID-19 times. The direction is set and the future success of Radial is safe in the capable hands of Radial’s Executive Leadership Team.”
Jean-Paul Van Avermaet, bpost group CEO said, “Henri has led Radial in a very difficult Corona context where he and his teams managed to boost growth and customer satisfaction. While we regret his decision to leave, we fully understand the reasons behind it. Thank you for everything and we wish you every success in your future endeavours, Henri.”
In other bpost news, the company has announced it is purchasing a number of DDTs for its HGV middle mile operations.
The four metre high trailers have two, 1.8 metre decks across a standard length of 13.6 metres. Their size means they can carry 60% more parcels per journey than standard trailers, reducing post’s overall CO2 emissions.
Five DDTs have been introduced at the bpost group sorting centres in Liege, Charleroi, Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp, with more to be put into operation over the next five years.
