Carousel buys AYS Logistics

European delivery specialists Carousel have announced that they have bought AYS Logistics. The deal was completed on the 2nd August.

Currently AYS is based in Solihull in the West Midlands and employs 36 people. AYS key offerings include time critical and express deliveries, as well as two man deliveries and same day transport solutions for a number of items including those that need careful handling or additional security.

The whole of AYS workforce will join Carousel, including Jane Weaver who will be joining the business development unit.

For Carousel this is part of its ongoing acquisition strategy and will help solidify its position in the West Midlands, to support its growing pan European operations.

Commenting on the deal, Graham Martin, CEO at Carousel said, “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of AYS, a critical part in the continuing execution of our rigorous growth strategy.

“AYS is complementary to Carousel’s service offerings in the agriculture, renewables and medical device sectors. It will also enhance our By:Night delivery service as part of our growing offering to the aftermarket sector and our field engineer and dealer deliveries. In bringing AYS’s expertise in-house, we will greatly enhance our service offering supported by a like-minded team focused on a transparent and first class service.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and we are pleased to welcome Jane and the team to the organisation and look forward to our future successes together.”

Jane Weaver, Managing Director, at AYS Logistics said: “We have worked with Carousel for more than 10 years, and during this time we have supported it with its engineer and aftermarket logistic solutions, proving to be a reliable and trusted supplier in their partner network.

“Carousel has a 30 year track record in the industry and this acquisition is a great match, bringing together two expert providers which both continually look for innovative ways to advance their service offerings and add value to the customer. We’re very excited about what is to come and delighted to become part of Carousel.”

AYS will be renamed to reflect ties to its parent company ‘Carousel’, with immediate effect. The name change will not however affect the business operation of AYS nor its current contracts with existing customers and partners.
