DPD has been ranked #1 in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Top 30 Logistics Service Providers, 2019.
Other companies in the top 5 were DHL Supply Chain, Wncanton, Kuehne + Nagel. The list shows the organisations that best exemplify excellence in logistics. Those on the list met assessments of key criteria: financials, performance, professional accreditation, the gender pay gap and human resource factors that have been made available through the MINT UK database, annual reports and the European Commission.
Dwain McDonald, Chief Executive, DPD UK, said: “To be the best at anything is a huge achievement, but this is a tough, tough sector to operate in. It is unrelenting in terms of the challenges that can be thrown at you on a weekly basis. You have to be at the top of your game every single day, and that’s the level we have been pushing for the last 10 years, so being recognised by people who understand the market we operate in means a lot.”
Kevin Richardson FCILT, Chief Executive, CILT(UK), said: “Last year’s list saw the Institute take its first steps into analysing the performance of the operators it represents. Now in its second year, I am pleased to announce that this list looks likely to become a staple of CILT’s suite of materials that recognise industry achievements and best promote the vital role of our sectors. We are delighted to see that more than 33% of those on this list are Corporate Members or associated with CILT and we hope to see this number increase in next year’s list.”
