With more government support or bursaries over a third of SMEs would be more likely to adopt new tech in the future according to survey of 1000 SME decision makers by couriers CitySprint.
The CitySprint survey also showed that 27% of businesses would like would Ikea to see more information as to what would work for their specific businesses. Other barriers that the survey showed were a lack of budget (38%), security concerns (26%) and staff training (24%).
Such technology includes parcel delivery and management software platforms as well as cleaner transport solutions such as battery powered delivery vehicles.
CitySprint chief Patrick Gallagher said: “Business owners know that innovation drives growth, but testing and adopting the latest tech is expensive and time consuming, and without more support small businesses struggle to keep up with technologies that can help them stay ahead.”
