The UK’s largest same-day distribution company CitySprint has announced it is recruiting 600 new couriers from around the UK. It is looking for couriers with small and large vans.
They will join the more than 3,500 vans, bikes and cars that are already used by CitySprint around the UK, and help ease the increased demands on the delivery network. The fastest growing segments are in retail and healthcare, and many of the couriers will work into this. London in particular has had a surge in demand and the recruitment drive will ensure that CitySprint will be able to meet service levels and customer satisfaction that the courier is known for.
Mark Footman, Chief Operations Officer at CitySprint, commented: “Our focus is always on providing our clients with the best and smoothest-possible service and, in turn, helping them do the same for their customers. We are committed to deliver a first-class service to each of our clients all year round so we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure the fleet is prepared to face anything that comes our way in the coming months as the business continues to grow. The new couriers will also help to ensure we continue to hit — and exceed — our targets in the London area, which has seen service levels increase dramatically over the last year.”
Mohammed Osman, a courier in London, says: “I have always enjoyed traveling around the UK, so when the Pandemic hit, I decided to apply to become a courier with CitySprint as a way to make some extra money. I love the freedom of being a self-employed courier and controlling the hours that I work, whilst traveling across the country — meeting new people and experiencing different situations every day. It keeps things exciting, and I haven’t looked back since.”
