CMS wins contract with Time Inc.

Contract outsource mailroom company CMS has announced it has won a contract with the publisher Time Inc UK to manage four onsite mailrooms. The contract will include staffing as well as inbound and outbound mail and courier services for the publishing giant.

The deal is the first major contract in this particular market for CME, whose CEO Steve Stokes has outlined plans to target a number of alternative sectors as part of CMS strategic growth in the Mail & Express Delivery Show held earlier this year.

“This is a wonderful development of our service line, offering our clients the same core strengths and service excellence associated with our company whilst developing our reach to running clients’ mailrooms,” said Stokes.

“Our clients now have the opportunity to reduce space, improve service quality, have access to trained back-up staff and still enjoy unequalled cost savings associated with our global distribution services for both mail and courier.

“We expect a number of companies to follow during the next 12 months as our clients see the very real benefits of joining up mail room functions with the outbound and inbound services we currently provide.”

CMS will run four sites for Time Inc., from Hampshire to London.

CMS is one of the two founding members of The Delivery Group. On Monday it was announced that The Delivery Group has bought P2P, the international e-commerce logistics operator. The company seems to be growing even as some of its rivals stagnate or fall backward in revenues – an interesting business to watch.
