Spanish national postal operator Correos has gained a memorandum of understanding with Alibaba owned AliExpress and Cainao to strengthen links between Spanish SMEs and China.
Under the MoU, Correos and the Cainao Smart Logistics Network are to work on faster deliveries between China and Spain. The AliExpress marketplace is to work with Spanish SMEs to sell to other markets in Europe and Latin America, expanding their global reach.
Correos and Cainao are to design new logistics strategies to speed up deliveries between China and Spain, as well as looking at how to better manage parcels in areas such as shipment classification, customs clearance, transport and last-mile delivery.
“AliExpress consumers will benefit from an improved shopping experience, especially given the speedy delivery empowered by Cainiao,” Correos said in a release.
Increasingly Spanish SMEs are using the AliExpress platform to reach international markets thanks to its reach in 220 countries as well as China.
