Spanish postal operator Correos has signed a three year deal to continue to deliver Amazon parcels to postal addresses in Spain. This continues the two companies’ relationship that has been working since 2013.
According to Correos, the deal will “ensure that Amazon customers in Spain receive an even faster and more reliable parcel service”.
Correos plans to become the leading parcels carrier in the country, though faces competition. Its network includes 2,400 post offices as well as 5,000 CityPaq. More than 30,000 postal delivery staff work across the country too.
In November and December, Correos delivered some 24 million parcels across Spain. The Amazon deal should ensure it remains close to the front of the pack in the Spanish parcels market.
