Croatian Post to use pallet handing robots

In partnership with robotics company Gideon Brothers, Croatian Post is working on driving efficiencies into its operations through greater automation.

Croatian Post is to use Gideon Brothers’ pallet-carrying autonomous robots at its new Zagreb sorting centre. This is part of its Post 2022 strategy that is to see the postal operator invest in Industry 4.0 technologies.

No staff cuts are planned at this stage, with the robots aimed at improving efficiencies rather than replacing sorting personnel.

The Gideon Brothers robots are to be tested for four months initially at the Zagreb sorting centre’s high rack warehouse. Staff will work alongside them as the robots assist in the picking and transport of mail.
