Damco wins inbound logistics contract for Bettenwelt

Third party logistics provider Damco is to be inbound logistics partner of German company Bennenwelt for moving goods between Asia, Germany and Spain.

The new five year contract will involve logistics services for all inbound flow of goods for Bennenwelt. It includes supply chain management solutions at origins and destinations as well as process improvement initiatives supported by key account management.

Damco has handled inbound flow for Bettenwelt for for Asia – Spain and Germany routes since 2013.

Damco Nordics chief commercial officer Mads Drejer said: “Partnering with some of the world’s largest and most successful retailers over the past years gives us confidence that we can assist Bettenwelt in fulfilling their strategic objectives in the years to come.”

Bettenwelt purchasing and logistics head Niels Hother Madsen said: “By continuing our journey with Damco we are confident that we can continue to fulfil our supply chain objectives in terms of meeting our customers’ requirements.”

The German company is a retailer that provides mattresses, duvets, pillows, furniture, home furnishings and home accessories in Europe.

Damco secured a contract from agricultural chemical firm Syngenta to provide sea and airfreight shipment services earlier this month. Under the deal, the company will serve as the lead logistics partner (4PL) for Syngenta’s global sea and airfreight shipments.

With around 300 locations in more than 100 countries, Damco provides freight forwarding and supply chain solutions to its customers.
