Deliveroo launches in Hong Kong

UK hot food delivery company Deliveroo has launched its first physical food hall – in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong ‘Delivery Food Hall’ has five restaurant groups as well as 15 meal concepts that include burger specialist Beef and Liberty, PizzaExpress, Linguini Fini serving Italian cuisine and Hong Kong’s first Pololi, which is the main Hawaiian fish meal.

The new facility covers an area of 1,500 square feet.

Customers can choose to have their food delivered to their location or to eat at the food hall. According to Deliveroo this is good for people who want to eat together but have different tastes.

For startups or companies looking to break Hong Kong, the kitchen setup is a low-risk option where they can test market reactions before launching a brand there. Pizza Express’s The Pasta Project spaghetti and Pololi’s Shaka Sushi are both concepts tested through Deliveroo.
