Hot food delivery company Deliveroo has announced it is has opened its first shared kitchen in Saint Ouen in Paris.
Shared kitchens are where different restaurants can test new areas of a city, or even act as incubators for start-ups, so new food concepts can be delivered to online and app ordering customers. They require a lot less investment from the businesses using them as they use pre-existing facilities and can largely pay a license fee to Deliveroo. Deliveroo’s first such kitchen was opened in London in 2017.
Eight restaurants are using the new Deliveroo kitchen in Paris, testing a range of food delivery options on the Parisian public from burgers to sushi and even Thai.
