UK based q-commerce carriers Deliveroo are working with French frozen food specialists Picard Groupe, offering express deliveries across France. This is the third national-scale client Deliveroo has taken on in the country.
With a chain of more than 1,000 stores in France, Picard has recently topped a national customer satisfaction survey. The roll out of the service is expected to be quick, with the two partner companies aiming at operating into more than 100 towns and cities in relatively short order.
The move comes as Deliveroo seeks to add more grocery delivery to its successful restaurant delivery business. Groceries now represent 7% of the total value of transactions made via the Deliveroo app.
Recently the carrier announced plans to expand its in-house q-commerce app, Deliveroo Hop in new markets such as France, Italy and Hong Kong, having recently soft-launched it in the UK. Deliveroo Hop operates out of a network of dark store customer fulfilment centres, though Deliveroo has started working with supermarket chains such as Carrefour and Casino Guichard Perachon, delivering direct from their stores.
