Delta Airlines Cargo has become the first airline in the US to offer door-to-door delivery in the US after agreeing a partnership with delivery company Roadie.
The DASH Door-to-Door service is aimed at streamlining the delivery process. It pairs TSA-approved Roadie drivers with air cargo. According to Roadie it already has 150,000 verified drivers in the US and has a same-day delivery footprint that can reach 89% of all US households.
Customers wishing to use the DASH Door-to-Door service visit the Delta Cargo website where they get a price quote with a single booking number for flights that include pick-up and delivery. The service includes real-time tracking. It is available for any packages weighing less than 100lbs and90 linear inches. For packages over 16oz, TSA Known Shipper status is required.
The new service is now available from Atlanta to 56 US cities in the US. These include Anchorage in Alaska, but also many cities in the lower 48. It is expected that the service will expand to ‘dozens more cities’ by the end of 2019.
