It has been a very good start to the financial year at Deutsche Post DHL, with first quarter operating profit tripling to €1.9 billion – this was the logistics giant’s best ever first quarter in that regard. Group revenue hit €18.9 billion.
All five divisions did well, and Deutsche Post DHL even exceeded its preliminary results that were published last month. It now forecasts operating profit to hit €6.7 billion. In 2023 the Group reckons on growth in profits to more than €7 billion.
Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group commented: “We had the best opening quarter ever and were able to unleash our full strength as a Group. All five of our divisions are on track for growth and are ideally positioned to benefit from the continuing boom in e-commerce and the resurgence in global trade. Our 570,000 employees are operating our networks more efficiently than ever before. This makes me optimistic about the future.”
