To cater for normal growth in e-commerce demand (as opposed to the pandemic induced spike) DHL has invested $5.3 million to double its capacity at its Nashville, Tennessee hub.
The new hub at Old Murfreesboro Pike is 18,000 square feet larger than its previous location in the city and is also closer to Nashville International Airport. The expansion and new equipment on sits maximises capabilities and allows international shippers in the Nashville area to send and receive earlier deliveries.
Richard Saavedra, VP and general manager of DHL Express, said, “The larger space has not only allowed us to keep up with the current demand due to the rise in online shopping, but it accommodates 10 years of growth capacity.”
The revamp of the site doubles sorting capacity and helps the 50 staff work more efficiently.
