In opening a new site in Rumilly, so DHL Express has expanded its offering in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region.
The new, 2,000 square metre warehouse has twice the capacity of its old site in Argonay, and cost the company €2.7 million to build and fit out.
The DHL Express site has the capacity to handle 2,500 packages a day and can handle an expected 8% growth in demand through this coming year.
Philippe Prétat, CEO of DHL Express France, said, “Our investment in the new site will allow us to improve the quality of service offered to our customers, as well as the well-being of our employees – two essential points for our business.”
It has been future-proofed with charging stations for electric delivery vans, the first of which will be delivered to the depot in 2021.
