DHL Express and StreetScooter have teamed up to develop a new hydrogen powered fuel cell electric van (FCEV). The H2 Panel Van will be a 4.25 tonne electric van with a fuel cell that should extend its range up to 500km.
To seed the venture, DHL Express has ordered 100 fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) that will begin to be delivered next year with an order completion data of 2021.
Andreas Scheuer, German Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure: “We still need the technology-open approach, which is why we are also promoting the procurement of the new e-van with fuel cell because it is only with long ranges and marketable prices that we will be able to make climate-friendly deliveries alternative drives are on the way.”
