DHL Express trialling e-cargo-bikes in Miami

DHL Express is to trial using three-wheeler e-cargo-bikes with payload capacity of 180kg on the streets of Miami, Florida. The REEF Technology bikes are each to replace a delivery van.

In the DHL Express pilot the e-cargo-bikes will carry up to nine cargo containers a day. These will be delivered to the REEF hub where they are to be connected to the bikes for last mile inner-city deliveries every morning. In the afternoon they will be reloaded for outbound shipments.

Ken Russell, commission vice chair whose district includes downtown Miami, said, “I’m proud to have sponsored many of the City of Miami’s mobility ventures. This is another excellent partner in our efforts to balance the needs of residents and businesses in our urban core.”
