DHL Freight wins Toyota Material Handling Europe contract

DHL Freight is to move around 90,000 tonnes of equipment for Toyota Material Handling Europe in a deal struck yesterday. The contract involves moving racking and other equipment from suppliers to customers’ sites across Europe, and begins later this month.

Toyota has just launched a new line of racking solutions for pallets and non palletized racking systems. The company saw DHL’s experience in moving different types of load, from small boxes to 13m long racks in Less than Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL) and Part Truckload (PTL formats.

Materials will be moved from one warehouse to sites all over the continent and islands of Europe.

Stefan Brunner, DHL Freight Automotive Sector’s chief said of the project: “Transport management for highly diverse cargo and critical delivery timelines call for thorough planning and creative solutions.”
