DHL Parcel and car makers VW have announced that they are launching a joint pilot in Berlin where DHL staff will deliver parcels into the boots of VW cars.
Deutsche Post DHL have released a statement today that said that VW will deploy 50 VW Polos in which their owners can use them as mobile addresses for their DHL parcel deliveries.
Those participants will be given a VW Polo that they can use the service for a month. These vehicles are already fitted with the kit required for the in-boot delivery, that is appropriately called ‘We Deliver’.
“Since we’ve already tested car drop delivery successfully in other projects in Germany and continue to offer it for Smart drivers, we’re pleased to win Volkswagen as another partner – our partnership allows us to offer this attractive service to an even broader target group,” said Achim Dünnwald, CEO of DHL Parcel.
