DHL’s Blue Dart targeting whole of India

India’s Deutsche Post DHL subsidiary Blue Dart has announced plans to be able to reach every customer in India before December this year, amidst massive growing demand for e-commerce in the country. This is the biggest expansion programme by the delivery company to date.

The Blue Dart expansion plans will strengthen the company’s position as the leader in the Express Logistics sector across B2B and B2C in the country. Blue Dart is currently the largest company in the sector in India and has the infrastructure and technology to enable the plans to happen.

Blue Dart plans to reach come 19,100 pin codes by the end of this year. In January when the plans were announced it reached 6,164 pin codes and currently reaches more than 17,677. In 16 states it has achieved 100% pin code coverage, including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Goa, Telangana, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Pondicherry, Daman & Diu, Chandigarh and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

As part of the expansion, Blue Dart has opened over 939+ new facilities (called NBDO – New Blue Dart Offices) to cater to the large consumer base in rural and remote locations.
