Dixons Carphone starts using London Gateway logistics centre

High Street retail chain Dixons Carphone Warehouse has begun operations at a new 316,000 square foot logistics centre at the DP World London Gateway. This is to help meet a spike in demand during the current festive peak season.

It joins UPS, Lidl and fruit importer SH Pratt in operating from London Gateway.

Dixons Carphone Warehouse have announced that they will be using the port facility all the time, with its potential of enhancing supply chain savings and boosting efficiency for their customers.

“We are delighted that Dixons Carphone has signed a lease with us to operate out of the building we refer to here as Plot 3010, developed with our joint venture partner Prologis,” said Oliver Treneman, park development director at DP World London Gateway.

“I’m convinced that operating from this site will add great value to Dixons Carphone’s supply chain operations, not least with the deep-sea port terminal located next to this facility. The port’s slick community network system, automation and ability to move containers from ship-to-shed in less than 24 hours will ultimately speed up Dixon Carphone’s supply chain and help with achieving a greener, more sustainable supply chain.”
