Doddle launches automated returns kiosks

UK pick-up/drop-off network Doddle has launched a range of self-service kiosks that offer automated package-less, label-free self-service returns in less than a minute.

The machine allows customers to process returns quickly and conveniently. They use a touchscreen to navigate it and scan a QR code before placing their return item in packaging provided. The kiosk then prints a label that they stick to the item and then place it into a drop-box. The system then emails them a digital receipt.

For carriers, Doddle aims to consolidate return parcel volumes as well as offering valuable returns insights to retail customers with return reason data capture.

Tim Robinson, CEO at Doddle, said: “Our research shows that 94% of retailers see making returns better as a priority for their business. However, most merchants won’t have the ability to develop their own returns solutions in-house. That’s where carriers can come in. By solving this problem for merchants, they can deepen their relationships, win additional new business thanks to a more complete ecommerce proposition, and enable their merchant customers to succeed in ecommerce, driving long-term parcel volume increases. The introduction of our kiosks forms part of our solution, enabling carriers to offer additional services that are convenient, sustainable and cost effective.”
