Mobile appliances and electronics giant Dometic has launched an electronic cooling system for temperature controlled light commercial vehicles (LCVs) called the Dometic Frigo DC.
The unit is highly energy efficient and is built for vehicles that have smaller engines and local capacities. The lighter end of the LCV segment is increasingly popular for inner city deliveries.
The Dometic Frigo DC has a compressor / condenser in a single unit that is small enough it doesn’t need to be roof mounted. The system has a variable power supply to further manage energy consumption. When the supply voltage is low, the performance of the compressor is automatically reduced to keep the cooling system going without exhausting the vehicle’s battery.
Juan Vargues, president and chief executive, said: “With Frigo DC, Dometic brings its innovative, energy saving and future-proof technology to the temperature-controlled transport industry. Our superior design and technology make us unique in the market and we intend to grow further in the professional vehicle business.”
