DoorDash further establishes in grocery delivery space

US fast-delivery carriers DoorDash have expanded their footprint in the grocery delivery space with a partnership with US supermarket chain Raley’s. This intensifies DoorDash’s competition with established grocery delivery player Instacart.

Initially DoorDash will deliver from 213 Raley’s stores that operate under the Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods, Raley’s O-N-E Market, Bashas’, Food City and AJ’s Fine Foods banners. Members of the DoorDash membership programme DashPass will be able to have free delivery on orders over $35.

Instacart already has a partnership with the same stores, with the carrier and supermarket chain having a relationship dating back to pre-pandemic.

Raley’s is not the first such supermarket chain that DoorDash has begun working with in the last year. It has signed deals with Dollar General and BJ’s Wholesale Club, as well as expanding existing deals across the US. In addition, DoorDash has started working on a white label delivery and pickup service with Southeastern Grocers.
