DoorDash launches Nationwide Shipping service

US restaurant and grocery delivery giant DoorDash has announced the launch of a nationwide shipping service. Now, anyone in the US can order food from restaurants or specific stores and and have it delivered within a few days.

In its announcement DoorDash gave some examples of deliveries on offer under the Nationwide Shipping service: “ranging from famed and well-known merchants like Carlo’s Bakery (Hoboken, NJ), Katz’s Delicatessen (New York, NY), Momofuku, Carbone Fine Food (New York, NY), and Get Maine Lobster (Portland, ME) to local heroes like Big Shakes Hot Chicken (Franklin, TN), Chocolate and the Chip (Los Angeles, CA) and more, there’s a perfect range of options for whatever you are craving.”

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with DoorDash and honored to be one of the first merchants signing onto their Nationwide Shipping launch. DoorDash is a trusted brand that’s going to help us introduce more people to the heritage and flavors of Maine lobster and fine seafood. We love what we do and can’t wait to grow our business thanks to the power and reach of their platform.” – Mark Murrell, CEO, Get Maine Lobster

Shoppers log on to the DoorDash or Caviar app and select the Nationwide Shipping carousel to see what is on offer. They then select the items they wish to order and choose a shipping time (either ASAP or a future delivery date up to three months away). Goods will be delivered within four days.

Unlike its q-commerce offering, restaurant food will arrive frozen in insulated bags. This is thawed and heated up before consumption.
