DoorDash, the US’s largest food delivery business, is said to be leading an investment round in the European ultra-fast delivery company Flink, believed to be valuing Flink at $2.1 billion.
The results of the funding round are set to be announced in the coming weeks, though neither DoorDash or Flink have commented on the matter as the deal progresses.
Flink is another ultra-fast delivery firm that aims to deliver convenience items and groceries within 10 minutes. It currently operates in major cities across four European countries.
DoorDash is known to be interested in moving into the UK and European markets. Recently a deal fell apart with Gorillas, and the firm is now advertising job openings in Germany ahead of a launch in the country in the near future. It has also moved into grocery delivery in the US in the last 12 months as it seeks to grow the business beyond its core restaurant delivery interests.
