DX Express opens Rotherham depot

DX Express has opened a new, 1,858 square metre depot in Rotherham as a part of a planned expansion the logistics company is planning over the next two years.

The Hellaby Industrial Estate depot is to provide for more capacity in South Yorkshire and allows for enhanced levels of service to its clients.

This comes as DX Group announced earlier this week that DX Express hasn’t fully recovered profitability after losing its HM Passport Office delivery contract 18 months ago. The depot is part of a wider £10 million capital expenditure programme that was enacted to help the struggling company recover last year. A new depot is to open in Glasgow in the coming months.

Lloyd Dunn, chief executive officer at DX (Group) plc, commented, “This new site in Rotherham increases our presence in South Yorkshire, and shows our confidence in the continued growth potential for the business. We see opportunities for DX Express to gain greater market share in the parcels market by focusing on our core strengths, and intend to open further new sites in the next two years to continue its development.”
