Elaine Kerr is to be CEO of DPD UK. She is to begin in post from the 1st June and is to report to Yves Delmas, Chief Operating Officer DPDgroup Europe.
Kerr joined DPD 28 years ago as a sales executive based in the NW of England, and has risen through the ranks in roles such as Head of CRM before joining the senior management team in 2008 as Head of CRM. Last year Elaine was promoted to Executive Director, Sales, CRM & Customer Services.
She replaces Dwain McDonald who suddenly left his post at the request of DPDgroup in March with no explanation from either the Group or the outgoing CEO. Kerr is a surprise appointment, with Tim Jones (current Director of Marketing at DPD UK) widely expected by fellow industry insiders to replace McDonald in the role.
Yves Delmas, Chief Operating Officer DPDgroup Europe, commented: “Elaine has had a tremendous career with DPD and has been instrumental in growing our customer portfolio to include some of the most prestigious brands and securing our continued growth, both domestically and internationally.
“Her passion for ensuring that we put our customers at the heart of everything we do continually improves the customer experience and keeps us striving to deliver the next innovation.
“Elaine will now continue this success story in the role of CEO, building on the strengths of the senior management team to lead the business to a new chapter, and I wish her every success in her new role.”
