Delivery management platform Electio, part of MPD Group, has appointed Anthony Smith as national sales manager.
Smith has almost 20 years experience working for some of the biggest names in the business. He joins Electio from GFS where he was multichannel director. He has also worked for Hays DX, Yodel, and played a major role in developing and rolling out the CollectPlus network.
In his new role as national sales manager, Smith will be responsible for building direct relationships with leading retailers in the UK’s e-commerce sector as well as managing Electio’s channel partnerships.
MPD Group CEO David Grimes said of the new appointment, “Anthony will be joining us with a proven record in managing multichannel partnerships. Having been part of the team that brought CollectPlus to market, Anthony certainly has a history of making the projects he works on a success.
Speaking of his new appointment, Smith said, “I’m delighted to join the team in bringing this exciting new product to market. I know from talking to retailers that customers are demanding more convenient delivery options all the time. The market has been crying out for new technology that provides more delivery choices, quickly and efficiently.”
Smith continued, “Electio presented me with an opportunity to work with the right product at exactly the right time. We’re currently in a one-dimensional industry that’s ripe for change so to be a part of the team that’s delivering the answer is quite thrilling.”
Part of MPD Group, Electio’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform allows retailers to offer options such as click and collect, international or nominated day delivery to their customers. This widens the client company’s delivery options for their customers for a fee that covers a package that is designed to suit their e-commerce needs.
