Pan European haulage company Europa Road has launched a new route to the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This will be the first of 10 new European services that it plans to roll out over the next year.
The twice weekly service has been launched by Europa alongside the Tallinn based logistics group CF&S, that has strong road links with Central Europe, Scandinavia and Russia.
This is a strategic move on the part of Europa, which is undergoing a rapid expansion as the Baltic countries lead the ranking of economic growth in the whole of the EU. Their central location provides access to 100 million consumers and their specialised sectors of economic activity, the Baltics are now becoming a hotspot of foreign direct investment.
The haulage company now has 33 European routes, 18 of which run daily.
Dan Cook, Operations Director for Europa Road, said: “2016 is set to be our most ambitious year yet and the launch of the Baltics service is just the tip of the iceberg.
“We are well on track to achieve our target of launching 10 new routes this year and extending our reach even further. This couldn’t be done without our trusted network of European partners and we look forward to expanding this to deliver an even better service to our customers.”
“The recent economic growth of the Baltic states made them the perfect choice as their central location acts as a gateway to both Eastern and Western Europe. Increasing foreign investment in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia since the economic crisis proves there is great scope for new business opportunities and we are eager to meet this growing demand.”
