Evri to open New Plymouth depot

UK delivery company Evri has announced it is to open a new, £1 million depot in Plymouth that will open ahead of the peak season in July this year. It will create 50 new jobs in the area.

The new, 60,000 square foot depot in the Parkway Industrial Estate is almost double the size of the current unit at Bell Close that has been managed by a third-party contractor. According to Evri, while the unit is double the size of the old one it will enable a five-fold increase in capacity, in part as the unit is to be run in-house by the delivery company. It will also have increased control over service levels at the site.

The existing staff at the old Plymouth site will TUPE across to the new site. Ethan Treble-Westlake, depot manager at the new Evri Plymouth site, said, “At our new depot we will be able to handle up to 480,000 parcels each week at peak times and provide a strong delivery service for the local community and a good working environment for our people.”
